LOVELESS
by Andrey Zvyagintsev, Russia, 2017, 127’, o.v. with subtitles

A couple of divorced parents have to come to terms with the sudden disappearance of their 12-year-old son, who lost track of him during one of their furious fights.

In collaboration with the International Filmmaking Academy, of which Andrey Zvyagintsev is Master Teacher, and the Cineteca di Bologna

Winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, multi-award winner at several editions of the Cannes Film Festival, two-time Oscar nominee, Golden Globe winner and winner of the French Academy's Cèsar Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Andrey Zvyagintsev is known for his powerful films, distinctive visual style, complex characters, deep exploration of human nature and the complexities of contemporary society. He is a master allegorist and social critic whose austere and meticulously crafted family dramas lay bare the political and ethical corruption rooted in his country and offer a mirror to the harsh, sometimes unpleasant, reality of modern Russian society. Zvyagintsev is considered the bearer of Andrei Tarkovsky's legacy.
