Anthropologist Marco Aime has written a performance that blends words and music to give voice to the journey of migrants. A journey through space — across skies, walls, deserts and seas — to assert their right and desire to live, but also a journey through time, through a humanity that has always been on the move, in a succession of ruptures, conflicts, encounters, exiles and returns.
In every piece and in every song, we meet the “stranger” who gradually feels ever closer: the mother cradling her child while fleeing Libya, the child who never reached his promised land but speaks loudly to us through the school report card stitched into his clothes, the migrant harvesting fruit under the scorching summer sun. A performance that questions the spectator, accompanying them on a necessary journey, rich in encounters and stages.

Marco Aime, anthropologist, writer, and photographer, is a Professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Genoa.
Massimo Germini, musician and composer, is the author of the musical score. He has performed with numerous Italian artists and is the long-time guitarist for Roberto Vecchioni.
Eleni Molos, actress and voice artist with a background in philosophy, is a member of Teatro dei Sensibili, founded by Guido Ceronetti. She works both in theatre and in radio and recording studios and is also active in podcast writing and production.
